Think Hollywood 2011 presented by KeyBank

Thank you to everyone that helped in making the first annual Think Hollywood event a huge success.

On Friday, January 7th, The Hollywood Boosters Business Association hosted Think Hollywood 2011 presented by KeyBank at the Hollywood Theatre.  The event featured food and drinks from Columbia River Brewery and Whole Foods Market.  The evening gave local business people the opportunity to mingle and enjoy live music and great speakers.  The event was free to Hollywood Booster members and their employees and just $10 for all others; this was made possible by a generous grant from the Alliance of Portland Neighborhood Business Associations (APNBA) and a sponsorship from KeyBank.

The speakers were: Skip Newberry - Economic Development Policy Analyst for the City of Portland, Lisa Reed – Associate Dean of the Pamplin School of Business at the University of Portland, Harry Glickman – Founder and Past General Manager of the Portland Trailblazers, and Tom Mears – Chairman of The Holland Group/Burgerville.  The speakers shared tips and experiences that they have had during their years of business and leadership.  Attendees also had the opportunity to ask questions of each of the speakers both during and after the event.

Think Hollywood 2011 was emceed by Spencer May, President of the Hollywood Boosters and Manager of KeyBank’s Hollywood Branch.  May shared his vision for the Hollywood Boosters in 2011 and said it is his – and the Boosters – goal to provide local business owners and professionals with more opportunities for education and networking together than what has been available in the past.  He said “It is our goal to provide you with access to top-notch business insight to help you better run your respective businesses.”

Think Hollywood was attended by 115 individuals who enjoyed an evening of good food, music and great speakers.  Those in attendance expressed their approval of the event and said that they are looking forward to more events like it in the future.
