35th Annual Veterans Parade draws hundreds

Once again Hollywood Booster volunteers supported the annual Veterans Day parade November 11, 2009 in Hollywood. Sponsored for 35 years by Ross Hollywood Chapel, the parade is the only parade in Portland that honors America's active and retired military and their families. The parade in 2009 was designated one of 41 regional Veterans Day observances in the country by Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric Shinseki. It drew more than 1,000 participants and several hundred parade attendees to our neighborhood.

Veterans Day Parade

The Veterans Day Parade is Hollywood's tribute to the dedicated men and women who have served our country and their families. Every year hundreds of veterans young and old march or ride through Hollywood along Sandy Boulevard, and hundreds more people line the streets to say thank you for the sacrifices made by the members of the armed forces and their families. This is your chance to support the people who place their lives in danger for you. Hollywood businesses plan and volunteers help organize the parade each year, and line NE Sandy Boulevard with American flags.
